In a world where gods use humans like pieces for their celestial games…
We meet a young demigod named Ophelia.
She spends her days learning from her mother and father how they came to be masters of the bow, roaming free across the grasslands
Life was joyful migrating with the reindeer herds, and sharing treats with her brother Tummu.
Until one day father was injured in war…
And so, the two children alone lead the reindeer.
But because Ophelia was identified as a demigod by cultists of the artificial gods…
…that sad day, strange figures were sent to kidnap her and her brother.
They crossed a long distance over many lands, until finally they left young Ophelia in The Valley of the Cyclops to be devoured.
Running for her life from the mighty Arimaspi Cyclopes, she found herself in strange surroundings.
In her escape through the Akmonian Wood, she happened upon a deer white like clouds with a deep wound that caused it to limp.
She could have left it to be caught by the final Cyclops just behind and escaped as the monster ate, but it reminded her of her beloved reindeer Taba.
And so she helped the deer to hobble away, with the Cyclops not far behind.
They came upon the ruins of a long gone society, and crept past sculpted jeweled monuments of young goddesses.
Safe in the depths of an old stone temple, Ophelia yet again risked herself for the sake of the deer. She left safety to climb a winding tree in search of its glorious fruit.
As they each took bites of the sacred fruit of the ancients’ cultivation, Ophelia had passed her test. The deer transformed to her true form—as the shaman of a secret tribal kingdom welcome to fey folk and animals in search of a hideaway from humans and other dangers.
And so with a swirl of the the great paintbrush, a portal opens to that hideaway in the forest.
Let us follow Ophelia and her newfound companions as they take on the corruption that threatens their life of harmony.
